Virginia Macias of Stamford was walking down the stairs of the American Fabrics complex with two friends, having just spent time checking out all the artist studios inside the former East End factory.
Macias didn't need to give a detailed explanation of what the group thought of the AmFab open studios event on Saturday.
"I think the bags tell the story," she said, with all three women holding bags from purchases they had made as they prepared to leave.

WESTON Town Council will not commit to any Tropicana development until definite options are drawn up.
But fast action is needed to develop the site and make it an asset for Weston, according to its leader, Councillor Andrew Horler.
However, he insists no promises from the town authority can be made until a set of alternative plans are drawn up.

Cable television newsman Dominic Carter, an influential reporter on New York politics, was convicted Friday of an attempted assault on his wife.
The Rockland County district attorney's office issued a one-sentence statement Friday saying Carter, 46, was found guilty of third-degree attempted assault.
The maximum sentence is three months in jail.

A VALUABLE antique Japanese vase was among thousands of pounds worth of property stolen from a house in Huddersfield.
Burglars took a ladder from the garage of the house on The Dell in Fixby to get into a first floor window.
They took a £1,000 Satsuma vase, two ivory figurines, solid silver bottle stoppers, solid silver salt and pepper shakers, a Toshiba laptop, two large flat screen televisions, three bottles of red wine and a bottle of champagne.

COUNCIL workers refused to collect an escaped dangerous breed dog because it 'wasn't tied up', it is claimed.
And the dog, an Akita Inu, chased a resident on Upper Quarry Road in Bradley – the morning after he had reported the animal loose.
But the warden service told the resident that it could not collect the Akita unless the dog was tethered so that it would definitely remain there until a warden arrived to take it away.
